Graphic Arts

Grade Level: 9-12

 

A career in graphic arts allows people to combine creativity and artistic ability with knowledge of computers. Students will use the Macintosh computers to produce a variety of visual graphics using such industry standard programs as Adobe Illustrator and iMovie. A general knowledge of computers is helpful.

 

 

Advanced Graphic Arts

Prerequisites: Graphic Arts, Computer/Video Background and high interest in computers

Grade Level: 10, 11, 12

 

Students with computer proficiency can create animated productions using various computer software and production capabilities. Students will learn how to create advanced graphics and add motion to clip art or their own business.

 

 

Digital Imaging- Photography

Prerequisites: None

Grade Level: 9-12

 

Ever wonder how they make photographs look perfect? Digital images have allowed for the use of processing software to crop or modify the image and enhance it through color correction and other specialized effects. This course will be using Photoshop to manipulate and adjust photos for professional development.

 

 

Digital Imaging 2

Prerequisites: Digital Imaging/Photography

Grade Level: 9-12

 

This course builds upon the concepts of Digital Imaging/Photography.

 

 

Drafting/ CAD 1

 

Credit: 5

Prerequisites: None

Grade Level: 9-12

 

In this course students will learn manual drafting skills and blueprint reading. After the fundamentals are understood, students will begin to explore CAD. There will be time devoted to future career opportunities in the field of Drafting, Engineering, and Architecture. Evaluation will consist of tests and drawings.

 

 

CAD 2

 

Credit: .5

Prerequisites: Drafting /CAD 1

Grade Level: 10-12

 

In this course students will continue to explore CAD. There will be opportunities to assist others in the Drafting /CAD class and spend more time with the CAD software. The class will run concurrently with Drafting /CAD 1. Evaluation will consist of tests and drawings.
